Updated: Jun 28, 2021

Beloved trauma-informed yoga trainer and counselor Janelle Railey from the Asheville Yoga Center and Big Sky Mind Counseling will offer "Restoring Safety in the Body. A Trauma-informed Approach to Yoga," a trauma-informed yoga workshop, at Rubber Soul Collective on March 7th from 11:30-3. Janelle has practiced psychotherapy with individuals and couples for over fifteen years. She is grateful to work in a capacity that is aligned with developing a greater understanding of and compassion for the human experience. She has regularly offered trauma-informed yoga trainings at the Asheville Yoga Center as part of their 300-hour teacher training. She received BAs in English literature and psychology from the University of Illinois, a master's degree in contemplative psychotherapy from Naropa University and is currently a student at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Her natural inquisitiveness has led her to complete trainings in somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, neurobiology, Ashtanga yoga, and perinatal psychology. She has practiced mindfulness meditation for over 20 years as a means of having a more direct experience with life. This workshop is open to anyone interested in practicing trauma-informed yoga, especially people who already are teaching yoga or engaged in other mind-body therapies. With questions or to register for the workshop email rubbersoulcollective at gmail.com. The cost for the workshop is $60. Space is limited. No continuing education credits are associated with the workshop.
